Perspectives: Women Engineers at Bio-Rad

Women engineers at Bio-Rad help Bio-Rad develop innovative, life-saving products that are improving healthcare outcomes for people around the world. While engineering is traditionally a male-dominated field, women engineers at Bio-Rad regularly lead many new initiatives and projects, and there are often opportunities to grow their careers or explore different departments and disciplines that may interest them.  

Here are a couple perspectives from female engineers at Bio-Rad about the career opportunities they have witnessed here for women engineers like themselves.  

How are women at Bio-Rad leading different initiatives and projects? Can you provide any examples in your role or those around you? 

In my role as a staff electrical engineer at Bio-Rad, I recently led the electrical engineering aspects of a product development project, focusing on R&D, problem-solving, and collaboration. While the specifics of the project are confidential, my involvement has been deeply rooted in electrical engineering-related activities, R&D, problem-solving, design, and collaboration. Additionally, I've seen my women colleagues excel in leading various projects, bringing unique perspectives that enhance our work environment and drive project success.

During your time at Bio-Rad, what type of opportunities have you witnessed the Company provide to women engineers like yourself?  

During my tenure at Bio-Rad, I have been offered opportunities to grow my career. I started here as a junior engineer and have grown through a variety of projects to be a technical leader and people manager. I have been given great mentorship at Bio-Rad to hone my technical skills and was given many opportunities to learn on the job.
