Bio-Rad Announces Global Expansion of Diversity and Inclusion Program

Since launching our Diversity and Inclusion Program in the United States in 2021, Bio-Rad employees have partnered together to implement various programs that highlight and promote diversity in our workplace and local communities. During our journey, we’ve been inspired by our employees’ passion to drive positive change and foster a more inclusive work culture.  

With a solid framework established in the US, we began to envision how our program could grow to represent Bio-Rad's entire workforce of more than 8,000 employees. Today we are excited to announce that we are expanding our D&I Program globally with the hiring of two new D&I program managers who will help us develop the program outside of the US.

Welcome to the team, Orsi and Aastha!

We couldn’t be more excited to welcome Orsi Geczi and Aastha Khanna! Orsi and Aastha join US-based team members Patsy Kennedy (Sr. Director, Global Talent Development/D&I), Frenchelle Franklin (Sr. D&I Program Manager), and Laurie Bennett (D&I Project Manager II).

What excites you about joining Bio-Rad?  
What excites me most about this opportunity is the chance to make meaningful impact, not just on a global scale, but on a local and regional level as well. I hope to help create a very inclusive environment here in the region and to make every employee feel that they are valued, that their opinion counts, and that they can contribute their unique perspectives to the bigger picture. 
 
Why is it important for Bio-Rad's D&I Program to expand globally?  
Bio-Rad's willingness and intention to go global with D&I shows a commitment to fostering an inclusive culture where people are heard and feel that they can speak up. There is action behind what we say and this will allow everyone to feel a strong sense of empowerment.

What excites you about joining Bio-Rad?  
The thing that really excites me about this role at Bio-Rad is the fact that a program like this has never been run outside of the US. I know from my conversations with Frenchelle, Patsy, and different HR Managers that the US program has been a success, and I’m very excited to help build something similar in Asia Pacific and see growth in terms of our employees’ understanding and knowledge.  

Why is it important for Bio-Rad's D&I Program to expand globally? 
There has been a very significant amount of research done over the past couple of decades that shows having a commitment to diversity and inclusion is a business imperative. It has a direct impact on things like retention, growth, and profitability, because when you have a more diverse workforce, you have more diverse ideas, more innovation, and better decision making.  

 

D&I initiatives are essential for organizations today, as they invite a healthy variety of people from different backgrounds and cultures to provide us with the balance of voices and diversity of thought that we need to establish strong bonds inside our organization and with our customers.
