The Director of Marketing within the Americas Commercial organization is responsible for leading and managing all regional product management, field marketing and scientific affairs, pricing, campaign management and demand generation functions. Combined this role is responsible for maximizing marketing revenue contribution relative to operating expenses.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the Regional GCO Marketing strategy and execute related tactical plans in alignment with short-, medium-, and long-term goals for both Life Science and Clinical Diagnostics Divisions and the Americas Commercial organization including the US, Canada, Brazil, Mexico and the greater LATAM teams.
  • Align globally and manage regionally all aspects of product lifecycle management including: defining the product or segment vision, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, developing core positioning and training materials, and generating accurate forecasts by working closely with Divisional Marketing, Sales, and Supply Chain. Overall, ensure commercial readiness, successful product launches and post launch momentum to meet revenue and customer satisfaction goals across all products and segments.
  • Ensure that Product Marketing and Scientific Affairs teams drive the voice of Marketing outward by informing regional campaigns, providing sales training, prospecting new business, delivering seminars and hosting workshops as a way of informing and helping customers make the right choices regarding Bio-Rad products and solutions. Develop ongoing market research initiatives through the cultivation of relationships with external with KOLs, decision-makers, and key customers for the purpose of internalizing their voices into portfolio, placement, positioning, pricing, and promotional decisions that heighten Commercial effectiveness.
  • Lead regional Marketing Programs and Demand Generation activities that maximize impact relative to expense. Develop comprehensive, cross-Commercial, cross-Divisional campaigns that incorporate and deliver appropriate Sales and Marketing promotional materials across all marketing channels to maximize Marketing revenue contribution. Develop annual promotional campaigns and tactical plans that increase quality contact and MQL generation, increase conversion rates to closed-won opportunities via Sales and perform regular report outs to relevant audiences while leveraging a Start/Stop/Continue approach to optimize plans and activities in an agile and timely way.
  • Manage the interface with Supply Chain to ensure Sales forecasts accurately and efficiently translate into planning and production schedules and appropriate inventory management in alignment with Commercial operating plans. Support annual pricing rounds within each Division and perform routine discounted pricing analyses to ensure maximization of deal scores and overall profitability. Establish and maintain ongoing PxQ mechanisms that optimize product prices and quantities based on the above.
  • Manage expense budgets within expectations, oversee all aspects of hiring, coaching, and developing employees to enhance performance and develop talent across the regional Marketing organization. Work to align strategies, tactics, processes, and outcomes across the GCO region where possible as part of the establishment of Marketing best practices.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of combined sales/marketing experience in a related industry, or combination of education and experience.
  • 8+ years of R&D management experience in the related industry, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 7+ years’ experience working collaboratively with decentralized R&D teams.
  • 7+ years’ experience in new product development.
  • 5+ years cross-cultural work experience.
  • Manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • Product Management experience a plus
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Strong strategic thinking.
  • Strong planning and organizing skills.
  • Positive, proactive approach to getting things done.
  • Solid knowledge of CDG and LSG products and market.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation and management skills.
  • Inspirational and strong motivator.
  • Knowledge of and interest with key opinion leaders and technical experts in the scientific community.
