The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) department is responsible for all EHS programs across Bio-Rad's global sites and operations to ensure compliance with international, federal, state and local regulations. This position will primarily focus on environmental compliance programs for Bio-Rad's Northern CA sites.

 

How You’ll Make An Impact:    

  • Under the leadership of the Northern California EHS Manager, this position will be responsible for: Providing specialized technical expertise in assigned areas including Air Quality Compliance (BAAQMD), Environmental Remediation Project Management, TRI reporting, stormwater, CARB, and wastewater compliance. Leading regulatory submission efforts with the BAAQMD for new sources and environmental requirements.
  • Maintenance of environmental records for compliance with environmental permits.
  • Work on complex projects of diverse scope and use judgment based on experience and technical expertise to solve problems that are outside the prescribed procedures and identify and solve a range of problems in a range of situations (moderate to complex). 
  • Analyze possible solutions and assess each using standard procedures. 
  • Maintain a good working relationship with regulators. 
  • Leading onsite safety teams, including emergency response teams and safety committees. 
  • Support corporate goals related to safety culture and sustainability. 
  • Developing and delivering appropriate training based on site safety and environmental exposures and regulatory requirements. 
  • Coordinate EHS activities within the site to further drive safety culture improvements. 
  • Develop and manage assigned EHS programs for the region's sites and operations, ensuring compliance with federal, state and local regulations. 
  • Utilize leadership skills to collaborate with other departments and to lead change.

 

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical field, including engineering, biology, or chemistry. 
  • 5+ years of work experience in environmental compliance. 
  • Demonstrates an ability to manage time and work on projects of moderate complexity. 
  • The ability to effectively shift priorities and work at a rapid pace is required. 
  • Working knowledge of regulatory requirements such as EPA, BAAQMD, and/or country requirements.
  • Skills in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Power Point, SharePoint, Excel, and Outlook. 
  • Experience completing and submitting regulatory reports to local, state or federal agencies.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with SAP is a plus.

Compensation: The estimated base salary range for this position is $99,700 to $137,100 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensations, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors.This position is eligible for a variable annual bonus, which is dependent upon achievement of your individual objectives and Company performance.
