Firmware Engineer (Boulder)

We are seeking enthusiastic, highly motivated Software Developers to join our Boulder team (either a fully remote role or in Colorado).

Our fast-paced team is looking to grow to support an exciting new product. We have opportunities throughout the tech stack and are looking for developers with excellent communication skills and a willingness to expand their skillset to help bring this product to life. Our team works closely with electrical and optical engineers, lab scientists, and marketing to create an innovative digital droplet PCR instrument. We are looking to fill roles from firmware to front-end development and prioritize talent and fit over a specific job description.

The Digital Biology R&D team is a collaborative group of engineers, chemists, biologists, and software developers who thrive working at the forefront of innovation. With a primary focus on advancing scientific discovery and improving lives, we optimize technologies like Droplet Digital PCR, new chemistries for sensitivity and specificity in cell biology, protein analysis and purification, and software tools, including AI for data analysis. We’re driven by our mission and the meaningful impact we make every day delivering solutions that work for our customers from bench to bedside. 

How You’ll Make An Impact:   

• Work in a collaborative environment to apply well architected solutions.
• Architect business logic and features to add to our web-based applications from concept to implementation.
• Work alongside Scientists, R&D and Marketing to develop innovative life science products.
• Work closely with EE team to develop firmware for custom PCBs.

What You Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Software Developer.
• Experience with embedded C/C++ development using RTOSs.
• Experience with interrupt driven programming patterns.
• Experience developing for ARM processors.
• Experience developing firmware to interface with discrete ICs.
• Experience working with Linux operating systems.
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines.
• Software development in regulated environments (medical, aerospace).
• Agile and scrum practices and policies.

 Position is located in Boulder, CO.

Compensation: The estimated base salary range for this position is $107,600 to  $148,000 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors.  ​This position is eligible for a variable annual bonus, which is dependent upon achievement of your individual objectives and Company performance.
