The Manager for Global Automation and Process Improvement is responsible to develop, manage and drive the automation and process improvement activities for global manufacturing. The manager will also have responsibility for monitoring, standardize and drive process improvement for global manufacturing. The person will design, track, monitor, analyze, improve, control and report key performance indicators for Global manufacturing in order to drive harmonization across the organization, improve efficiency and move towards operational excellence.
Drive Global Automation with team of 2 to 3 Sr. Engineers and 3 to 5 Global Distribution Engineers.
Develop, manage and drive the automation and process improvement activities for global manufacturing.
Has primary responsibility for developing a global automation architecture and establishing automation equipment standards that will ensure future capability to connect automated processes to global business systems. This includes standards for HMI, SCADA systems and PLCs, as well as standards for safety, connectivity and performance monitoring.
Screen, bench and insource new state of the art technologies (e.g Digitalization) to provide competitive advantage for Bio-Rad and drive operational excellence.
The manager will lead a team of 3-5 globally distributed engineers and team members to implement the automation standards across global manufacturing and drive a global automation roadmap.
The automation team will also develop standardized practices for identification of automation opportunities, specification of user requirements, review and approval of automation designs and commissioning of new equipment in manufacturing.
Responsible for the deployment of the Lean/Continuous Improvement program across the global supply chain.
