The Global Supply Chain’s Manufacturing team focuses on building high quality products for our customers in support of testing in clinical diagnostic labs and life sciences research. The Manufacturing teams are located in the Americas, Europe, and Singapore and produce regulated and non-regulated products that range from reagent kits to small and large instruments, plastics, and consumables. They also collaborate and work seamlessly with our supply chain to meet, and exceed, our customers’ expectations.

 

Join Bio-Rad as our Maintenance Technician for our Hercules, CA site, where you will be responsible for supporting manufacturing site equipment in accordance with documented procedures, troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, incoming equipment testing, ongoing regular, preventative maintenance and maintaining appropriate spare parts inventory. Other duties will include supporting manufacturing site projects involving equipment design, testing and sustaining as well as ancillary facilities support such as Power, Air, workcell space, and temperature within the plant as well as with internal departments such as Facilities and EH&S and outside companies and contractors to service manufacturing equipment as required.

How You’ll Make An Impact:

  • You will test, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair plant machines, equipment and structures.
  • You are capable of performing production setup of manufacturing equipment and will perform preventative maintenance on production equipment. 
  • Use test and diagnostic equipment to perform basic checkouts and you will make periodic or special inspections of the premise to determine repair work necessary. 
  • Document work in electronic equipment maintenance tracking software.
  • Make suggestions for improvements in equipment preventative maintenance. 
  • Under direction of engineering or an upper level maintenance associate, you will assist in equipment installation and startup. 
  • You will interpret blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications. 
  • May be involved in Continuous and First Pass Yield Improvement. 
  • May assist Engineer in Parts and Process qualification and evaluations.
  • Set up and operate all tools and equipment necessary to perform assigned work. 
  • Operate within prescribed quality and safety policies and procedures. 
  • May provide basic training to lower level department personnel on processes and tasks.
  • Provide support to engineering as required.

What You Bring:

  • High school/trade school diploma, GED, or equivalent (e.g., ITC/NTC and above). 
  • 2+ years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Good knowledge of methods, practices and procedures in one or more craft areas and you are proficient with tools and equipment common to the trade. 
  • Ability to follow detailed written or oral instructions. 
  • You can work independently and in a team environment to resolve maintenance issues. 
  • You use common courtesy, tact and discretion
  • Knowledge of PC, MS Office, and basic software.

Compensation: The estimated hourly range for this position is $25.34 to $34.86 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors. This position is eligible for a variable annual bonus, which is dependent upon achievement of your individual objectives and Company performance.
