This role is intended to support continuous manufacturing operations at QSD Irvine. Candidate shall be skilled in technical troubleshooting and repair of automated, high speed equipment such that equipment downtime is minimized. The Maintenance Technician IV will be required to perform routine preventative maintenance (PM) on a diverse spectrum of equipment  including, but not limited to: Low & High-Speed Filling Lines, Thermoforming Packaging Lines, high-purity process tanks, pumps, filtration, and mixing control units. The role shall now include the experience in control systems with knowledge in PLC/HMI systems for troubleshooting and engineering project support.

This role requires detailed documentation to be completed and maintained for all work performed, whether scheduled PM or  unscheduled service/repair.

The Maintenance Technician IV will be required to maintain an inventory of critical spare parts as well as an effective working relationship with our service partners and equipment manufacturers.

Responsibilities

  • Minimize downtime, scheduled or unscheduled, of production equipment utilized within the QSD Irvine manufacturing site through effective troubleshooting and a "first time right" approach to maintenance.
  • Maintain and manage a critical spares inventory to minimize equipment downtime and manage cost.
  • Maintain equipment files and perform tasks in accordance to established SOPs and/or work desk instructions.
  • Work collaboratively within the Maintenance Team and also within ancillary groups including: facilities, production, and engineering.
  • Must be able to work independently and have experience with electromechanical systems. Abiity to troubleshoot systems and perform repairs in timely manner.
  • Proactively identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement. Propose action plans to address findings.
  • Contribute to a 24/7 production assist scheme, as directed, to ensure production activities are properly supported.

Qualifications

  • Established experience (5+ yrs) working with automated production equipment, machinery.
  • Refrigeration, compressor experienced is prefered.
  • Experience with control systems, HMIs, PLC Ladder Logic coding/troubleshooting is preferred.
  • Experience with good documentation practices and record keeping.
  • Must have experience working according to proceduralized work requirements is required.
  • Must be comfortable working in controlled environments with specific gowning requirements.
  • Prior work history within the Medical Device, Pharmaceutical, or Food and Beverage Industries is preferred
  • An Associates Degree or Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
  • Must be able to work off shifts and have flexible work shcedules.
  • Certifications on refrigeration, electrical, mechanical is a plus.
