This Strategic Development role supports future growth for for the Quality Systems business within Bio-Rad’s Clinical Diagnostics Group.  This role will explore and identify strategic opportunities to meet business goals that fit in with or complement the Quality Control portfolios.  This will include managing development of a strategic plan and leading identification, assessment, and recommendations for new growth opportunities.  This person should have the business acumen and experience in strategic planning, including leading or supporting high growth strategic projects, developing business and financial models, and executing on new business opportunities.

 

This position is eligible for a hybrid/flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

 

  • Interact with leadership team to drive strategic business objectives from concept to implementation as it relates to expansion into new markets, segments, or technologies.
  • Identify, assess, and pursue new external opportunities for growth and innovation, including collaboration with internal stakeholders to vet business and technologies.
  • Partner with leadership team to establish strategic objectives and plans in alignment with corporate goals.
  • Identify new opportunities and collaborate with internal matrix teams in vetting new and existing technologies, building business cases, leading diligence processes, and executing transactions.
  • Develop and maintain internal and external networks by creating strong relationships to drive collaboration and problem solving.
  • Support business development activities through financial and market analysis or modeling and slide deck preparation and presentation.
  • Interface and liaise with cross functional team members who may be key stakeholders for partnership opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or science, MBA and/or additional master’s degree preferred with 5+ years of business experience with at least 3 being in business development. Ability to flourish where ambiguity exists, adapting as internal or external factors change.
  • Experience in life science industries with understanding of clinical diagnostic market, healthcare sector, and BioPharm.
  • Experience leading or supporting strategic business development (including execution of acquisitions, licensing, partnerships, etc). Must have strong business acumen with proven skills in financial modeling and analysis.
  • Excellent ability to evaluate a variety of business options and the strategic implications of different business approaches.
  • Proven ability in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating high level complex agreements, and conducting due diligence.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be very detail oriented to manage multiple projects along with strong computer skills for creating complex documents, financial models, and compelling presentation.
