The Manufacturing Scientist I performs a variety of professional manufacturing scientific assignments associated with some or all of the following areas: research, design, development, manufacturing, or various phases of specialized science and manufacturing projects.  They will work closely with QC and QA to ensure products are released on time and are of high quality.  With some supervision, the MS-I will execute design control processes and contribute to process improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies process/equipment gaps and works with engineers and/or senior/staff scientist to develop and implement solutions
  • Develops basic experiments and tests (including writing and executing protocols) to qualify and validate manufacturing processes; analyze results, make recommendations, and develops reports
  • Analyze and resolve basic Manufacturing and Compliance issues (e.g., CAPA, non-conformances, audit observations)
  • Develops and edits training and technical production documentation to prevent production delays and loss of information
  • Establishes basic project plans ensuring deliverables are completed to expectations, using project management tools
  • Supports production teams with hands on training and manufacturing documentation reviews and updates

Qualifications

Education:  Bachelor's Degree in Scientific field, in biologic and/or chemistry disciplines.

 

Experience:  0 to 4 years’ experience required in related industry

 

Skills:

  • Computer skills in usage of MS Office Suite
  • Good problem-solving, organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Good understanding of processes and equipment used in assigned work
  • Basic documentation, communication (e.g., written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Basic understanding of statistical techniques.
  • Good understanding and knowledge of principles, theories, and concepts relevant to manufacturing and science - in particular immunoassays and/or ELISA experience would be desirable.
