A Snapshot of Your Day 

As a Market Development Manager (Product Dev III) supporting our Protein Purification business, you’ll provide researchers with the chromatography tools they need to discover and purify proteins at every stage – from the laboratory through clinical trials and into bioprocess manufacturing. You’ll work within our Life Science Group and partner with scientists, product managers, and customers to shepherd innovations in chromatography, overseeing the development of new products and building strategies to bring them to market. With your strong technical knowledge and experience tapping into VOC, you’ll drive solutions that focus on process chromatography resins, streamline drug discovery, and advance healthcare. 


The Life Science Group Marketing team works on the cutting edge of life science research to meet our global customers’ unmet needs. Responsible for the product pipeline, we partner with biopharmaceutical and biotech companies, academic and hospital research labs, and others to identify the products, tools, and technologies they need to propel their research forward. Then, we leverage our strong scientific backgrounds in collaboration with R&D to develop those resources and bring them to market – advancing scientific discovery and healthcare research so our customers can make important breakthroughs that save lives. 


How You’ll Make an Impact 

  • Spearhead the development process of chromatography tools that support scientific research and drive innovation in the area of Protein Purification.
  • Empower our customers to advance healthcare by building strong relationships and collecting voice of customer (VOC) to develop new applications for liquid chromatography and resins that address their needs. 
  • Maximize our impact by monitoring trends and identifying new customers, partnerships, and opportunities to use Bio-Rad resins in focused workflows. 
  • Promote our workflows, applications, and products in collaboration with campaign managers and product managers, writing collateral and managing social media posts and discussions. 


What You Bring

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in biopharmaceutical protein purification process development with experience in liquid chromatography (or a closely related industry/products support applications with a resin vendor) and an M.S. in chemistry, biotechnology, or a similar field (or a B.S. with appropriate experience). 
  • Practical knowledge collecting voice of customer data and using it to develop applications for liquid chromatography and resins. 
  • A talent for taking complex scientific material and transforming it to be compelling and understandable.  
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and conflict resolution skills with a passion for customers and a flair for inspiring others.
  • An eagerness to solve problems, influence key stakeholders and opinion leaders, and make an immediate impact in a dynamic environment.


Preferred Skills to Support Your Success:   

  • A PhD in chemistry, biotechnology, or similar field.


This position is eligible for a $10,000 HIRING BONUS: 

  • Bonus offered for a limited time only.
  • Bonus applicable to specific positions as labeled.
  • Bonus recipients must be employed at the time of payout.
  • Bonus payout after 30 days of employment with Bio-Rad.
  • Bonus offered to direct hires only. Agency hires and internal transfers are not eligible.
  • 12 months repayment clause.

Compensation: The estimated base salary range for this position is $127,000 to $174,700 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors. This position is eligible for a variable annual bonus, which is dependent upon achievement of your individual objectives and Company performance.
