The Master-Craftsman performs maintenance, calibration, and service repairs on equipment used in production or manufacturing processes and/or facilities. Master-Craftsman will install equipment or replacement parts for existing units according to specifications and established safety guidelines. The Master-Craftsman is also responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic equipment systems in manufacturing control rooms at the Hercules sites. Candidates are welcome with either electrical and/or mechanical experience. A minimum of 4 to 6 years of experience with building automation systems (BAS) (Siemens APOGE or Assent Compass), monitoring systems (Lab Watch or Rees), and programmable logic (PLC) is a plus. Clean, dry air (CDA) and nitrogen, chilled water, cooling water, heating hot water, RODI water, steam, pure steam, refrigeration system, and wastewater and exhaust treatment systems are preferred. The Master-Craftsman assures that equipment and systems are being maintained in an energy-efficient, safe manner. That downtime is reduced to a minimum by the anticipation of necessary repairs. Complete, accurate, legible, and contemporaneous record-keeping is essential, and candidates with the ability to leverage past systems experience to benefit and improve equipment and systems performance are highly sought after for this role. The Master-Craftsman will encounter and analyze non-routine to moderately complex problems and resolve those problems by applying and interpreting data. Applies corrective actions to ensure processes and equipment are maintained to meet production, quality, and compliance requirements.
Experience with filling lines, in food or beverage plants is a plus.The role reports to the Sr. Faculties Engineer and will support audits and inspections by representing the services and operations of systems supported.
