Quality Control Specialist II

This position involves production of commercial products with an emphasis on supporting raw material and in-process commercial testing.  Specific duties include performing BioPlex QC assays and performing special projects.  Testing will include BioPlex testing for assay component raw materials, bulks, fills, raw materials and finsished kits tested according to FDA/ISO regulated manufacturing and per document methods employing Good Laboratory Practices.

Responsibilities

• Analysis of incoming raw materials that include antigens, antibodies, dyed beads, plasmas and conjugate for qualification and release
• Evaluate matched pairing of small scale couplings and aliquoting of materials for use in Production
• Follow and complete standard operating procedures and test methods to evaluate and report results
• Maintains good laboratory procedures and documentation practices
• Establish and document procedures using cGMP
• Perform equipment calibrations and maintenance in support of QC Laboratory
• Maintain stock of QC lab supplies and reagents
• Perform other related duties and assignments as required

Qualifications

Education:  Bachelor's degree in a life science or related field

Experience:  2+ years experience in a general laboratory environment performing analyses in the areas of chemistry, biochemistry, or associated areas of life sciences, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills:

• Basic working knowledge of laboratory environments, materials, and apparatus.
• Able to follow detailed procedures and have good documentation skills.
• Ability to troubleshooting, perform data analysis and solving complex problems.
• Working knowledge of computer software programs such as Excel, Word, etc.
• Requires basic communication skills. Periodic contacts with other departments or individuals outside of the organization that require giving or obtaining routine information related to work being done. Requires tact and cooperative relationships.
