Regional Indirect Category Specialist

Bio-Rad is looking for a Regional Indirect Category Specialist. In this role, you will source suppliers for various materials and services and manage a group of indirect commodities with limited impact and complexity at a regional level. 

You will issue purchase orders to support business needs, actively manage invoice resolutions within SAP’s workflow, work with appropriate parties to resolve invoice issues to minimize overdue invoices. Identify and resolve potential supplier problems, identify opportunities for cost reductions, update productivity funnel and execute respective ideas, and ensure goods and services are delivered on time and meet quality standards.  You will also introduce and manage efficiencies through effective purchasing, participate in supplier audits and business reviews, monitors cost and supplier performance. This role acts as primary procurement contact for assisgned categories. Act as primary procurement contact for your assigned categories,  directly negotiate on contract and pricing matters, structure and manages RFP's,  structure and manage RFPs and maintain files and records related to purchasing activities. 

How You’ll Make An Impact: 

• Take regional ownership of an indirect procurement category of spend. Work directly with internal stakeholders and the global category managers to develop and implement a category strategy using a multitude of tools such as vendor consolidation, Global/Regional RFP’s, pricing analyses and direct negotiation efforts.
• Use your wide-ranging experience, professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues.
• Manage supplier relations and escalation issues with site/region specific suppliers
• Participate in Supplier AVL (approved vendor list) development, supplier compliance tracking, supplier business continuity and contract spend management

What You Bring: 

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Supply Chain Management, logistics, Business Administration or related discipline.
• Work Experience: 2-5 year’s experience in sales, purchasing, supply chain or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Basic knowledge and application of the principles and theories of purchasing, and contract negortiation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Office (Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint).
• Good oral and written communication, negotiation, and multitasking skills with good organizational skill
• SAP experienced is a plus.

Compensation: The estimated base salary range for this position is $91,500 to $125,900 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors. This position is eligible for a variable annual bonus, which is dependent upon achievement of your individual objectives and Company performance.
