A Snapshot of Your Day

At the Digital Biology Center in Pleasanton (a division of Bio-Rad) we are a Center of Innovation. We use droplet digital PCR to power a super-precise, molecular counting of nucleic acids. Building on the high precision, reproducibility, and increased sensitivity of ddPCR, we are expanding into Quality Control applications for Cell and Gene Therapy as well as Oncology applications. This means generating applications and products that enable the Cell and Gene therapy market to advance in one of the most challenging areas, manufacturing.

You will be part of a team: initiating, developing, and validating QC Biopharma kits for Cell and Gene therapy and Oncology kits for the liquid biopsy market. You will work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a multitude of opportunities to shine.

Focus on process chromatography resins, streamline drug discovery, and advance healthcare.

The Digital Biology Group R&D team works on the cutting edge of life science research to meet our global customers’ unmet needs. Responsible for the product pipeline, we partner with biopharmaceutical and biotech companies, academic and hospital research labs, and others to identify the products, tools, and technologies they need to propel their research forward. Then, we leverage our strong scientific backgrounds in collaboration with R&D to develop those resources and bring them to market – advancing scientific discovery and healthcare research so our customers can make important breakthroughs that save lives.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • You will work alongside others on the development of new Research Use Only (RUO) tests using state-of-the-art droplet digital PCR (ddPCR) technology, in a multi-disciplinary department that includes research and development scientists, hardware engineers and software engineers.
  • You will design and develop novel ddPCR assays for specific molecular targets and perform validation testing to ensure that new products meet requirements.
  • You will plan, execute and analyze laboratory studies for the development and optimization of new ddPCR tests, write documents and reports on your studies, communicate results to the assay development group, develop performance testing methods and acceptance criteria, and participate in other development activities necessary for the launch of new products.
