Organizes and prepares data and reports for presentation supporting transfer of products to manufacturing and clinicals, including validation information, stability studies and other supporting data.

Understands and complies with accepted laboratory and safety procedures; remains current with training requirements on controlled documents.

Observes, documents, analyzes, compiles, inputs, and presents technical data.

Conducts routine and special laboratory procedures in compliance with established protocols and within regulatory and laboratory requirements.

Troubleshoots experiments

Responsibilities

  • Plans, initiates, designs, and executes studies and research.
  • Participates in troubleshooting.
  • Conducts experiments carefully and consistently.
  • Collects, analyzes and interprets data.
  • Writes technical reports.
  • May provide recommendation for follow up experiments and ideas for solving problems.
  • Investigates feasibility of applying variety of scientific principles and concepts to development of new products, procedures, protocols, and potential inventions.
  • Researches and investigates literature, keeps abreast of new methods and developments related to the work area.
  • Writes, develops process specifications and draft documents.
  • Trains other personnel in techniques and protocol.
  • Writes basic technical reports, develops processes and procedures (SOP’s), develops excel worksheets and maintains laboratory notebook.
  • Presents standard technical results. 
  • May participate in development of patent applications.

Qualifications

Education:  Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD degree or equivalent in a related scientific discipline.

 

Experience:  3+ years of experience related to the targeted area of technical expertise (experience depends on education level).

 

Skills:  Ability to multitask and make intellectual contributions to multiple projects.  Exhibits good judgment within generally defined practices and policies.  Working knowledge of job-related development techniques, computer skills, including MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, as well as fluency in computer techniques and software, hardware or other tools for experimentation and analysis.  Knowledge of specific area of science/product assigned to e.g., biochemistry, chemistry, biology, assay development, etc.  Good data analysis, attention to detail, communication and presentation skills.  Experience in an advanced BioSafety Level (BSL) of 3 is preferred.
