Senior Product Manager, Molecular Diagnostics

The Senior Product Manager (SPM), Molecular Diagnostics within the Clinical Diagnostics Group will be responsible for leading Bio-Rad’s efforts to deliver qPCR-based pathogen detection solutions to the clinical laboratory.  In collaboration with Bio-Rad’s Life Sciences Group, the SPM will identify and quantify key market segments that present the greatest opportunities.  Based on a keen understanding of the clinical diagnostics market, the SPM will deliver detailed product requirements that will meet the needs of the clinical customer, including workflow, automation, and reimbursement.  A strategic thinker, the SPM will contribute to the groups long-term molecular diagnostics strategy and product roadmap.

 

This position requires approximately 20% travel both domestic and international.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the marketing function on product development core team(s).
  • Conduct voice of customer to clearly articulate product-market fit.
  • Support Regulatory team in conducting clinical studies to support product registrations.
  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategy to drive successful product launches.
  • Provide support, tools, and training to Commercial teams.
  • Prospect, develop, and nurture KOL relationships to implement studies supporting Bio-Rad's products.
  • Partner with Commercial and Supply Chain teams to deliver accurate product demand forecasts.
  • Highlight critical issues and opportunities for senior management to support effective organizational decision making.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA in Life Sciences, advanced degree or MBA preferred.
  • 5+ years of marketing experience in the clinical diagnostics industry, preferably with an infectious disease focus.
  • Strong knowledge of molecular diagnostics technologies including qPCR, ddPCR, NGS, and sample-to-answer platforms.
  • Solid understanding of regulatory requirements specific to molecular testing.
  • Proven track record of translating customer needs into winning products.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and positively influence project teams.
  • Experience across the entire product development and introduction cycle including product concept, requirements development, go-to-market strategy, and commercialization.
  • Experience organizing and communicating technical information and training materials that meet customer and sales needs.
  • Experience defining, establishing and managing collaborations with clinical researchers.
