Senior Scientist, BioEducation

We are currently looking for a Senior Scientist available immediately to help us develop our concepts into hands-on reagents for high school and college students.

The Life Science Group R&D team is a collaborative group of engineers, chemists, biologists, and software developers who thrive working at the forefront of innovation. With a primary focus on advancing scientific discovery and improving lives, we optimize technologies like Droplet Digital PCR, new chemistries for sensitivity and specificity in cell biology, protein analysis and purification, and software tools, including AI for data analysis. We’re driven by our mission and the meaningful impact we make every day delivering solutions that work for our customers from bench to bedside. 

How You’ll Make an Impact:

• Designing and executing well thought out experiments. 
• Analyzing data and troubleshooting technical problems. 
• Thinking creatively to solve technical challenges in innovative ways. 
• Managing projects through new product development processes. 
• Supporting existing products and serving as a technical resource for the education product line. 
• Working on cross-functional teams within the company to achieve goals and launch products. 
• Occasionally interacting with teachers and students.
• Traveling up to 10-15% to trade shows, conferences, vendors, and customer visits.

What You Bring:

• PhD in a Life Science Discipline.
• 8+ years of experience.
• Previous product development/industry experience. 
• Creativity to make scientific concepts come to life for students in novel ways. 
• Demonstrated mastery of molecular biology laboratory techniques including nucleic acid and protein biochemistry, PCR, gene editing, cloning, SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, chromatography, bioinformatics analysis.
• Previous work in diverse model organism systems. 
• Strong analytical and verbal/written communication skills delivered at an audience appropriate level.
• Ability to think and work independently, and to take direction when given.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Eagerness to work on a dynamic, fast paced, highly motivated team.

Location: Hercules, CA

Hybrid Opportunity: (3 days onsite / 2 days remote)

Compensation: The estimated base salary range for this position is $111,900 to $153,900.00 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors. This position is eligible for a variable annual bonus, which is dependent upon achievement of your individual objectives and Company performance.
