Software Engineering Intern

At our Hercules, CA R&D centers, you will be working with a small, nimble, dynamic, and fun team of brilliant scientists and engineers to bring clinical diagnostics products to market. You would be supporting a team of software developers and testers in testing and supporting a prototype instrument, you would be investigating issues, you would be designing improvements based on your findings and you would be putting together design packages and documentation – All under the guidance of experienced engineers and scientists.

How You’ll Make An Impact: 

• Assist software developers and SQAs in the development of instrument through continuous regression/stability runs, running tests, installing software, support, and troubleshooting. 
• Assist in writing scripts and testing of various instrument components. 
• Aid in performing root-cause investigations on systems and components to correct problems and improve product quality and reliability. 
• Generate and release documentation (release notes, test reports, etc.) to support the development and manufacture of world class life science instruments.

What You Bring:

• Education: Currently enrolled as an undergraduate (sophomore/junior) student pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent. 
• Must have a 3.0 cumulative overall GPA or better (on a 4.0 scale). 
• Proficient in C/C++, C#, .NET, Python 
• Knowledge of Operating System such as Windows 10 or above and QNX is a plus. 
• Strong problem solving, organizational, and communication skills are required.

Compensation: The estimated hourly range for this position is $25 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors.
