Technical Writer II

Bio-rad is seeking a Tech Writer. The successful candidate will provide Documentation and process support for manufacturing, supply chain and quality control department.

Responsibilities

The documentation specialist will support new product launches in transferring to manufacturing. These activities may include;

  • Create, revise and manage the routing, review, and approval workflow for documents and labels.
  • Create and revise documents in SAP.
  • Create and revise materials in SAP, update BOM's as needed.
  • Ensure data in SAP is consistent and adheres to in-house specifications.
  • Create and revise label specification in SAP.
  • Create label template using Bartender.
  • Validate label templates using HPALM.
  • Validate excel spread sheet.
  • Assist Project Management Team with New Product launches and sustaining existing products.
  • Manage the overall process of document creation and revision in PLM.
  • Assist Project Manager with design control documentation and ensuring accuracy of documentation.
  • Track and drive workflows affiliated with release of materials, document and changes.
  • Work on activities and tasks related to new product launches, sustaining existing products, manufacturing and regulatory changes as related to data governance, documentation or labeling.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a science field preferred.
  • 3-5 years in a regulated industry (medical device, pharmaceutical, biotechnology), or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with ERP systems such as SAP.
  • Skilled in desktop publishing tools, autocad, and solidworks.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Visio.
  • Strong problem solving, organization, multitasking skills are required
  • Knowledge of medical device regulations (QSR, ISO 13485:2003, etc.) and medical device manufacturing operations.
