How Our Employees Are Growing with the Bio-Rad Learning Academy

When Bio-Rad launched its Learning Academy in 2022, our goal was to give all employees the opportunity to learn, grow, and develop around a shared set of critical business skills. Now a year in, our global learning platform is changing the way Bio-Rad employees learn by providing access anywhere, anytime.  

Bio-Rad employees have the opportunity to complete eLearning modules that fit into their schedules or register for live-online virtual courses, offered in multiple languages, across a diversity of topics. To learn more, we checked in with a few employees to find out what aspects of the Learning Academy have helped them the most over the last year.

“It can sometimes be difficult to find big chunks of time, so I took courses when I was waiting for the train or at the airport, or even before having lunch in a café. Sometimes you just have to squeeze it in when you can, so the online courses suited me well.” 

Employees also appreciate the fact that the Learning Academy is designed around a shared set of skills and foundational knowledge, providing opportunities for Bio-Rad employees to sharpen their skills in areas that will help them wherever their career takes them.

“The Bio-Rad Learning Academy offers different Learning tracks with multiple Levels. One of my goals was to gain a better understanding of Bio-Rad’s financial performance and goals, so I selected the Financial & Business Acumen skill track. I used this knowledge to get insights into Bio-Rad Financial Reports and relate it to our Global Supply Chain goals.” 

In addition to helping employees learn new concepts and skills, the Learning Academy is also designed to help employees grow in their careers and adjust to changes or shifts they make.

Marilia also says that the Learning Academy has helped her outside of work, as well. “You really feel that you are growing, not only as a professional, but also as a person. Bio-Rad, as a company that cares, is giving us the opportunity to learn, to grow, to become better. I can't see any excuse not to take advantage of it.”
