Bio-Rad Multicultural Calendar, July 2024
July 3, 2024
As part of our Diversity and Inclusion Program here at Bio-Rad, we publish a monthly Multicultural Calendar of events that are commonly celebrated in the United States. Our goal is to feature a variety of events that help bring cultural awareness to various groups' histories, traditions, and accomplishments while also highlighting events important to us both as a company and a community.
Canada Day: July 1
Canada Day is a day for Canadians to reflect on what makes them proud to be Canadian and to celebrate in various ways. This pride is reflected in as many ways as there are Canadians. Since 1868, July 1 has served as an opportunity for Canadians from communities around the country to come together. For more info about this day, click here.
Independence Day: July 4
Independence Day is a significant holiday in American history, as it marks the day the United States officially became its own nation. The Declaration of Independence was adopted on July 4, 1776—and thus, America was born. Every year, American citizens celebrate America’s birthday with festivals, parades, fireworks, barbecues, sparklers, and other festive activities. Disability Pride Month: All July
People with disabilities are the largest and most diverse minority group within the population, representing all abilities, ages, races, ethnicities, religions and socio-economic backgrounds. Because at least 1-in-4 adults in the United States has some type of disability, it’s no surprise that a movement of “disability pride” is emerging and rapidly expanding.
