Bio-Rad Multicultural Calendar, March 2024

At Bio-Rad, we publish a monthly Multicultural Calendar of events that are commonly celebrated in the United States. Our goal is to feature a variety of events that help bring cultural awareness to various groups' histories, traditions, and accomplishments while also highlighting events important to us both as a company and a community.

Women's History Month: All March

Every year, March is designated as Women’s History Month—a month dedicated to honoring women’s contributions in US history. We are proud to honor the women of Bio-Rad each year as part of Women's History Month and International Women's Day, also held in March. Greek American Heritage Month: All March

March is Greek American Heritage Month, a time to celebrate the core components of Greek culture and ideals. Also known as Hellenic History Month, the celebration coincides with National Greek Independence Day on March 25. For ideas on how to celebrate, click here. 

Irish American Heritage Month: All March

From John F. Kennedy to Brad Pitt, some of the most famous, prolific, and influential Americans are of Irish descent. March is our opportunity to reflect upon this heritage, learn more about it, and celebrate what is a unique and brilliant strand of history. Gender Equality Month: All March

Every March, Gender Equality Month helps to recognize the achievements of people who live with identities that were or are currently marginalized, while acknowledging ways we can continue to work toward and promote this equality across the globe. To learn more, click here. 

Ramadan: March 12 - April 9

Ramadan is a month-long Muslim observance that is marked by reflection, community, and periods of fasting. The holiday is held earlier each year because the start is based on the lunar, or Hijri, calendar, which is based on the phases of the moon cycle. To learn more about Ramadan, click here. 

Holi: March 25

The festival of Holi is a two-day festival. The festival of Holi signifies the victory of good over evil. It marks the arrival of spring and the end of winter. It also celebrates the beginning of a good spring harvest season. To learn more about this festive holiday, click here. 

Transgender Day of Visibility: March 31

Each year on March 31, the world observes Transgender Day of Visibility (TDOV) to raise awareness about transgender people. It is a day to celebrate the lives and contributions of trans people, while also drawing attention to the poverty, discrimination, and violence the community faces. To learn more, click here.
