At Bio-Rad, we publish a monthly Multicultural Calendar of events that are commonly celebrated in the United States. Our goal is to feature a variety of events that help bring cultural awareness to various groups' histories, traditions, and accomplishments while also highlighting events important to us both as a company and a community.

Celebrate Diversity Month: All April

Celebrate Diversity Month was started in 2004 to recognize and honor the diversity of the world around us. By appreciating our similarities and differences, the month aims to get people to foster a deeper understanding of others, regardless of who they are, what they are, or how they live. Earth Month: All April

April is Earth Month, and it's the perfect time to reflect on our environmental impact and commit to positive change. As part of Earth Month, the first Earth Day was launched on April 22, 1970. since then, Earthday.org has been mobilizing over 1 billion people annually on Earth Day, and every other day, to protect the planet. Arab American Heritage Month: All April

Arab American Heritage Month is an annual observance that takes place in April to celebrate Arab American heritage and culture. It honors the contributions of Arab Americans and Arabic-speaking Americans to the wider American community. To learn more, click here. 

Autism Awareness Month: All April 

Every April, Autism Awareness Month emphasizes the importance of raising public awareness of autism. In 2007, the United Nations General Assembly also designated April 2 as World Autism Awareness Day. In 2024, 17 years later, we have moved beyond raising awareness to promoting acceptance and appreciation of autistic people and their contributions to society. To learn more, click here. 

National Public Health Week: April 1-7

Passover: April 22-30

Passover commemorates the Israelites’ Exodus from Egypt, and their transition from slavery to freedom. The main ritual of Passover is the seder, which occurs on the first two nights (in Israel just the first night) of the holiday — a festive meal that involves the re-telling of the Exodus through stories and song and the consumption of ritual foods.
