At Bio-Rad Laboratories, this position is a vital part of our manufacturing operations, supporting the production of high-quality products that advance scientific discovery and healthcare outcomes.
In this role, you will independently operate chemical reactors and large-scale production equipment, ensuring precise batch execution, material preparation, and process monitoring. You’ll play a hands-on role in weighing, mixing, and formulating products, while performing in-process testing and troubleshooting to maintain consistent quality and optimize production efficiency.
You’ll also be responsible for maintaining strict compliance with cGMP, safety, and environmental standards—including accurate documentation, proper handling of hazardous materials, and monitoring of wastewater and emissions data. Your ability to identify issues, conduct root-cause analysis, and recommend process improvements will directly contribute to minimizing downtime and enhancing overall operational performance.
This role offers the opportunity to collaborate cross-functionally with Quality, Engineering, and R&D teams, supporting validation activities and continuous improvement initiatives. Success here requires strong attention to detail, solid technical and analytical skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe, efficient, and compliant production environment.

How You’ll Make An Impact:
- Ensure consistent output with efficient work practices, machine operation, and troubleshooting of Production equipment to minimize downtime and optimize throughput.
- Maintain product quality and regulatory compliance through accurate execution of manufacturing processes, in-process inspections, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by supporting housekeeping practices, waste reduction efforts, process improvements, and new product introductions.
- Comply with established processes for hazardous waste handling, wastewater, and environmental emissions.
- Promote a safe and accountable work environment by complying with PPE and safety requirements and proactively communicating production issues.
What You Bring:
- Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. An associate degree with a chemical/biological background is highly desired.
- Work Experience: 4-6 years of chemical/biological production experience required, preferably in a regulated environment.
- Experience with chemical reactors and/or working in compliance with hazardous material regulations and wastewater handling is a plus.
- Intermediate-level analytical and math skills are required, with the ability to convert units of measure and calculate ratios.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools - Excel and Word are required. Experience working with ERP systems, SAP is a plus.
- The ability to speak, read and write using business communication skills is required. (English).
- Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to manage and prioritize tasks.
Location: This position must be based in Richmond, CA and requires the employee to be located within commuting distance of the office.

Compensation: The estimated hourly range for this position is $27.40 to $37.74 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors. This position is eligible for a variable annual bonus, which is dependent upon achievement of your individual objectives and Company performance.
