We are seeking a highly motivated R&D intern to support the development of next-generation resins for bioprocessing applications. This role offers hands-on experience at the intersection of polymer chemistry, biochemistry, and process development. The intern will assist with the design and execution of experiments to synthesize and evaluate chromatography resins, characterize their performance with protein-based assays, and contribute to scale-up activities for promising formulations.

How You’ll Make An Impact:

  • Support experimental plans by preparing materials and executing experimental steps to produce prototype chromatography resins.
  • Assist with chemical reactions and resin processing (washing, functionalizing, drying, labelling).
  • Help evaluate resin performance using protein assays, gel electrophoresis, and other biochemical techniques.
  • Perform routine polymer characterizations (e.g., particle size, ligand density, porosity, etc.)
  • Accurately record procedures and experimental data in laboratory notebooks and help summarize findings in team meetings and reports.

What You Bring:

  • Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree at an accredited university in Chemistry, Biology, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • Eligible candidates must be rising juniors, seniors, or graduate students who intend to return to their academic program the following academic year. A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is required.
  • Good fundamentals in polymer and protein chemistry (e.g., protein structure-property relationships, chemical and physical properties of polymers)
  • Solid laboratory skills (e.g., safe execution of wet chemistry experiments, following SOPs, ability to collect, organize and document data)
  • Curiosity, ability to formulate hypotheses and communicate to different audiences.
  • Enthusiasm for learning and collaborating in a cross-disciplinary environment.
