Field Application Scientist - BioPharma

Help shape the future of science by joining Bio-Rad as a BioPharma Genomics Field Application Scientist supporting our biopharma customers across the Central U.S. You’ll serve as a trusted scientific partner—bridging groundbreaking genomics technologies and the innovative scientists who use them.

In this customer-facing role, you’ll leverage your expertise in real-time qPCR, Droplet-Digital PCR (ddPCR), and single-cell NGS to deliver pre- and post-sales technical support that drives customer success. You'll be a key part of the sales process, collaborating closely with account managers to guide researchers toward the right solutions while demonstrating the scientific and practical value of Bio-Rad's technologies. 

You’ll engage directly with leading biopharma accounts in Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota, supporting customer success across the full genomics workflow—from instrument selection to data interpretation. Expect to travel up to 60% of the time to bring your expertise directly to the bench.

How You’ll Make An Impact: 

• Drive scientific discovery by delivering expert application support for Bio-Rad’s Genomics portfolio—including qPCR, ddPCR, and single-cell NGS—helping scientists generate high-quality, reproducible data. 
• Strengthen customer relationships by leading impactful product demonstrations, seminars, and trainings that build confidence and maximize instrument and reagent adoption. 
• Partner closely with Sales to shape account strategies, identify new opportunities, and position Bio-Rad solutions as essential tools in cutting-edge biopharma accounts. 
• Capture critical Voice of Customer insights to inform future product development and ensure our technologies continue to meet evolving scientific needs. 
• Play a key role in Bio-Rad’s mission by translating complex workflows into real-world solutions that empower scientists to push the boundaries of what’s possible in genomics.

What You Bring:

• Education: MS in Life Sciences minimum, PhD preferred. 
• Work Experience: Expert in qPCR/digital PCR technologies (Minimum 3-5 years of experience including qPCR/dPCR assay design and optimization). 
• Experience with different qPCR instruments is a plus. dPCR, sequencing, and related molecular biology techniques and practices. 
• Strong verbal (oral and written) and presentation skills required. 
• A combination of expert troubleshooting and interpersonal skills are the keys to success in this position.

Compensation: The estimated base salary range for this position is $94,100 to $129,400 at the time of posting. This range is inclusive of all geographic locations. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors. This position is also eligible for quarterly commission based on assigned sales quotas.
