Procurement Process Specialist Intern

As a Procurement business process specialist you’ll be an integral part of the Global Supply Chain Procurement group. A day in the life of a Procurement Process Specialist typically involves a mix of research, collaboration, and drafting or editing policies and processes. They start the day reviewing legislative updates, new internal guidelines or organizational needs to ensure policies are current and compliant. After gathering input from stakeholders—such as Supplier Quality, Direct and Indirect Commodity, OEM/resale, NPD teams, Finance or management—they draft or revise policies and processes, balancing clarity with legal precision. The role also includes meeting with teams to discuss feedback, addressing concerns, and finalizing drafts, as well as organizing training sessions on newly implemented policies/processes. Attention to detail is critical, as their work shapes operational practices and ensures regulatory alignment. By the end of the day, they often document progress and prioritize tasks for the next day.

How You’ll Make An Impact: 

  • Assist in reviewing and editing our global Procurement / PTP policies and processes, ranging from minor edits to a complete document overhaul & provide policy / procedure training to the Procurement community. 
  • Support process improvement projects with cross functional activities between departments and divisions. 
  • Connect independent documents and processes to ensure consistency and clarity of messaging across all documents. 
  • Support development of process maps and create clear and concise presentations to effectively communicate policy and/or process changes to stakeholders. 
  • Actively track feedback for the revised policy and incorporate necessary adjustments/amendments. 
  • Answer questions from internal teams regarding the process and its implementation. 
  • Work effectively with global teams to ensure consistency and alignment with the updated process and policies. 
  • Analyze spend data to identify untapped opportunities for productivity within new, unexplored areas.

What You Bring:

  • Education: Working towards Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in procurement, business administration, supply chain or related field. 
  • Must have completed freshman, sophomore or junior year by June at an accredited college or university, with plans to return to school in the following term
  • Work Experience: Strong analytical skills including data collection and synthesis, strong writing end editing skills to ensure clarity, accuracy and conciseness in policies. 
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software. 
  • Strong organizational skill, tact and diplomacy; able to facilitate and resolve problems.
  • Must have completed freshman, sophomore or junior year by June at an accredited college or university, with plans to return to school in the following term
  • Have a grade point average of 3.0 or better (on a 4.0 scale)
  • Be willing to make a full-time commitment of 40 hours a week for 9 weeks from June 16 - August 15, 2025
  • Lives within commutable distance (50 miles) to Hercules, CA in order to participate in Bio-Rad's internship networking and development opportunities

Compensation: The estimated hourly range for this position is $25 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors.
