Scientist - Temporary

The incumbent will be working on synthesizing, characterizing and formulating novel compounds. The incumbent will be operating chemical laboratory ware and analytical instrumentation, handling chemicals, analyzing data, creating presentation and reporting to the emulsion chemistry group.

• The candidate will synthesize, characterize, and formulate solutions of novel compounds.
• The candidate will handle chemical laboratory ware in a safe and efficient manner.
• The candidate will be responsible for conducting experiments, analyzing and interpreting data, as well as communicating and presenting results to team-members and management.
• The candidate will embrace Bio-Rad culture.

What You Bring:

• Education: MS or PhD. Postdoctoral training is a plus.
• Work Experience: none for applicants with PhD, ≥2y for candidates with MS
• Strong background in chemical synthesis and preparative purification methods.
• Experience handling moisture-sensitive chemical reagents and reactions.
• Strong background on methods for molecular characterization (13C-,1H- & 19F-NMR, FT-IR, UV-Vis, mass spectrometry etc.)
• Capable to thrive in a multi-disciplinary setting while working alongside cross functional teams.
• Willing to design, execute and analyze experiments on aggressive schedules in a rapidly changing environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, logical and analytical thinking, ability to multitask, work independently and on a team, and the ability to learn, troubleshoot, and problem solve.

Compensation: The estimated hourly range for this position is $44 to $54 at the time of posting.  Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors. As a temporary associate, your employment will be managed directly through our approved agency provider.
