Then Bio-Rad's Field Application Specialist role could be your next challenge!

 

The Field Application Specialist Genomics holds the responsibility for supporting and promoting the Bio-Rad Life Science Group Genomics portfolio (Gene Expression, PCR, qPCR, and Digital PCR, etc.) through interaction with our distributor partners (Channel Partners) and end users in those Countries where Bio-Rad does not sell directly like Balkans, Eastern Europe, Baltics, Mediterranean islands, etc. The Field Application Specialist is expected to work in close contact with the Sales Manager in order to contribute significantly to the business, by carrying out pre- and post-sales support providing regular technical and scientific training, presentations, hands-on demos, and visits to both distributors and customers.

 

The new colleague must have the ability to work internally in close contact with other specialists, customer technical support, marketing, and Service to provide high-level pre -and post-sales support and training. Having the ability to multitask and working successfully and efficiently within the team and with other Bio-Rad staff is as important as being able to resolve customers’ issues.

 

Please note that this is a home-based/field-based position with the opportunity to visit the Budapest office to work with other colleagues. Our office is located at 1082 Budapest, Futó street 47.

This position requires 50% international travel mainly in the Balkans, Eastern Europe, Baltics, Mediterranean islands, etc. The territory may vary.

 

 

How You’ll Make an Impact:

  • Application Support to Channel Partners and end-users in the assigned territory for the Genomics divisions.
  • Business Development to ensure existing and new high-value customers and market segments are targeted/discovered. Focus on Key Opinion Leaders and key Decision Makers at strategically important accounts.
  • Work together with Channel Partners, other Specialists, Marketing, and Sales Manager to promote the product portfolios to grow sales. Manage field sales activities, with tactical advice from the Sales Manager, by maintaining close communication with pertinent colleagues
  • Organizing and taking part in customer-facing seminars, product demonstrations, and post-sales training.
  • Provide customer field support by utilizing available applications for installed instruments and working with Technical Support.
  • Provide regular feedback on application, hardware, and software features requested by customers, identifying commercial market trends and challenges
  • Actively and visibly support all compliance efforts
  • Provide accurate revenue and product forecasts. Proactively manage sales funnel and opportunities and use market data to identify gaps in the market to target.
  • Assist in training and updating the Channel partners in responsibility.
  • Actively seek to maintain expert understanding of the technology and applications within the area of responsibility. Keep a basic knowledge about the full product portfolio outside Genomics like Proteomics
  • Travel internationally up to 50% of the time mainly in the Balkans, Eastern Europe, Baltics, Mediterranean islands, etc. The territory may vary

 

What You Bring:

  • Master’s degree in Molecular Biology, PhD is an advantage
  • Strong Genomics scientific background coupled with business acumen
  • Excellent presentation skills, and experience in presenting at seminars, workshops, or training
  • Team Player with the ability to work well with internal and external teams and uphold a good level of communication and cooperation with all other functions within Bio-Rad
  • Excellent English skills in verbal and writing
  • Ability and willingness to learn through self-study
  • Strong organization and planning skills are essential
  • 1-3 years of commercial experience in a similar role or sales role within the Life Science Industry.
  • Previous hands-on experience in PCR, qPCR, and dPCR is mandatory.
  • Able to design experiments in PCR, qPCR and dPCR
  • Preferred international multicultural experience in academic or private sectors
  • Driver’s License is required
