Join Bio-Rad as our Manufacturing Scientist I and work in our Portland, Maine office!

This role will support the development of new products, manage supply chain demands, and perform validation of new processes for the manufacturing of raw materials at Bio-Rad Laboratories in Portland, Maine.

 

How You'll Make An Impact:

  • Develop basic experiments and tests (including writing and executing protocols) to qualify and validate manufacturing processes; analyze results, make recommendations, and develops reports.

  • Develop and edit training and technical production documentation to maintain production timelines and to improve manufacturing processes.

  • Analyze and resolve basic Manufacturing and Compliance issues (e.g., CAPA, non-conformances, audit observations, risk analysis).

  • Lead and establish project plans to ensure deliverables are completed on time, using project management tools.

  • Support production teams with hands on training and manufacturing documentation reviews and updates. While also guiding the seamless knowledge transfer of projects and manufacturing processes.  Develop methods for process improvements by applying technical design skills to ensure equipment, tools, fixtures, and processes are lean and efficient.

What You Bring:

  • Education/Work Experience: Bachelor's Degree in a Scientific field, in biologic and/or chemistry disciplines; up to 4 years’ experience required in related industry.  Experience working in a cGMP manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Strong biochemistry background and some molecular biology knowledge (e.g. chromatography, bioprocessing, ELISA, electrophoresis, and western blotting).

  • Organizational, analytical, and written and oral communication skills.

  • Must be able to convey complex technical topics to diverse audiences (business, QA/QC, etc.)

Compensation: The estimated base salary range for this position is $76,200 - $104,900 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors. This position is also eligible for a variable annual bonus, which is dependent upon achievement of your individual objectives and Company performance.
