Software Developer Bio-Informatics (f,m,d)

Bio-Rad is seeking a Software Developer (f,m,d) Bio-Informatics for our Site in Neuried, greater area of Munich.

How you will make an impact:

• Support, administration and configuration of a cloud-based laboratory information and management system (LIMS) and a sequence analysis tool as a member of a small software development team.

• Communication with key and end users, documentation of e.g. use cases, requirements, deviations and user guides.

• Maintenance and improvement/further development of existing software solutions for the existing R&D and production processes.

• Development of interfaces (LIMS API) for data exchange with Office documents, databases, text, CSV or XML files.

• Development of modern software solutions for the acquisition, processing/analysis and storage of analytical and process data in a biotechnological research and production environment.

What you will bring: 

• Degree in “Bioinformatics”, “Natural Sciences”, “IT/Computer Science” or similar.

• Additional experience in the complementary field of “computer science” or “biology”.

• Ideally experience in a molecular biology laboratory.

• Development experience with the use of common programming languages (e.g. Python, JavaScript, Go, C#, VB.Net, SQL...).

• In addition Experience with one or more of the following is an advantage: System Analyst, Agile software development/SCRUM, JIRA, Confluence and Bitbucket, SVN/git, Office JavaScript API, MS Office, VSTO, Kubernetes, Docker, Web frameworks e.g. Django, relational databases, web-based client-server systems, especially technologies such as HTML, CSS, REST-API, XML, JSON.

  Experience in a molecular biology laboratory.

• Goal-oriented Team player with well-developed interpersonal skills and good communication skills, both in English and in German
