Associate Director, Business Transformation

Your day might start facilitating a Kaizen event or value stream mapping session with a product development, manufacturing, or commercial team, then shift to building the business case and ROI model for a proposed process or technology change. Midday could bring a working session with IT/Digital on adopting a new tool, or coaching a project sponsor on leading change using Prosci ADKAR. Along the way you will guide your two direct reports, a Change Management Lead and a Continuous Improvement (LEAN) Program Manager, update executive dashboards in Smartsheet or Power BI, and close the day presenting initiative status, risks, and outcomes in a CDG governance forum alongside the VP, Program Management.
How You’ll Make an Impact:
- Lead end-to-end assessment and redesign of core CDG business processes, operating models, organizational structures, governance, and decision rights; diagnose the root causes of inefficiency and stalled initiatives, and act as a thought partner to functional leaders on where to prioritize transformation investment.
- Establish and lead CDG's LEAN Business Transformation function across product development, manufacturing, and commercial organizations, designing and facilitating Kaizen events, value stream mapping, and standard work, and building a culture of continuous improvement and structured problem solving.
- Own the enterprise change management methodology (Prosci ADKAR) for major CDG transformation and technology initiatives, including stakeholder analysis, communication, training, and sponsor roadmaps; coach sponsors and people leaders as change champions and measure adoption.
- Partner with IT/Digital, Quality, and functional teams to evaluate, select, and drive adoption of new systems, tools, and automation/AI-enabled solutions, building data-driven business cases, ROI models, and proofs of concept, and ensuring solutions are embedded in daily operations.
- Lead cross-functional transformation programs from initiation through benefits realization in partnership with the PMO's Integrated Portfolio Management team; translate CDG's five-year strategy into a transformation roadmap with clear KPIs, report to executive governance forums, and manage a team of two plus external consultants and vendors.
What You Bring:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
- Work Experience: 8–12 years of progressive industry experience, including 5+ years leading business transformation across multiple disciplines (process/operating model redesign, technology-enabled transformation, LEAN/continuous improvement, program management, and organizational change management).
- Hands-on experience facilitating Kaizen events and applying a structured change management methodology (Prosci ADKAR or equivalent); Prosci, Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, or PMP certification preferred.
- Track record of building and presenting business cases and ROI analyses to senior leadership and conducting organizational readiness assessments, with strong analytical, data visualization, and executive communication skills.
- Collaborative, influential leader who aligns senior stakeholders across a matrixed, regulated organization; IVD, medical device, or pharmaceutical manufacturing experience (ISO 13485, design controls) preferred; willing to travel domestically and occasionally internationally.
