As a Junior FP&A G&A Manager at Bio-Rad, you will play a key role within the global FP&A team, which is expanding as we centralize FP&A activities in key hub locations. You will support the Senior Manager and the G&A Team in partnering with business and the corporate FP&A team in Hercules. Part of your activities would be communicating results and variances, budget/forecast status, and relevant reporting requirements. This role will also be supporting with annual budget preparation, forecasts, monthly financial packages, and ad hoc analysis. The candidate ideally has experience with building, improving and documenting new FP&A processes. You are a highly motivated, technically proficient person with a strong sense of ownership, business ethics and teamwork to deliver high quality work in a fast paced environment.
How You’ll Make an Impact:
- Manage the annual Financial Planning process for G&A, support with plan coordination ensuring alignment with the Corporate timetable.
- Ensure appropriate and timely review and approval cycles through the team.
- Ensure budget guidance is incorporated in the processes and adhered to by the teams.
- Planning and completion of monthly variance review with the businesses.
- Coordinate activities in close cooperation with Sr Mgr F&A and the Corporate FP&A team.
- Support the month end closing and reporting cycle with reviews and identify and communicate the necessary information for accruals to the shared services organization.
Identify, initiate and manage system improvements in respect of budget and variance analysis processes. - Deal with any queries from the Auditors, in coordination with shared services organization.
- Support transformation & process improvement initiatives; ensure best practice is always used.
- Support a range of ad hoc projects to advance the growth of the company.
What You Bring:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in FP&A and business partnering in an international environment and multi-national company.
- Preferably has an accounting/control background.
- Master's degree
- Proven track record of identifying and remediating problems and solving issues.
- Significant proven experience of operating as a Business Partner to senior management/or a Junior Manager – ideally 2-3 years plus.
- Proven results in raising and maintaining high performance in direct and indirect teams’ structures.
- The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic team player with ability to work flexibly in an ever-changing work environment with good excel skills.
- Excellent knowledge of Financial Planning processes and Best Practices within large, high transaction, fast-paced environment
- Very strong analytical skills and ability to explain complex financial transactions or analysis in comprehensive summary for non-finance stakeholders or management.
- Strong influencing skills at all levels and ability to work in transparent and collaborative manner across the organization
- Excellent written and verbal English language skills essential
Strategy & Innovation
- Support the Senior Finance Leaders and Finance Functions on standardizing and improving Financial Planning environment.
- Work with the IT / Business Intelligence tools to develop further advance in areas within the remit of the role.
Operations & Results
- Support the Senior Finance Leaders and Finance Functions to ensure that Financial Planning and business partnering processes are robust across all the businesses and remains that way.
- Manage ad hoc projects as required.
Customers & Relationships
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with Business Partners as well as Senior Finance Leaders and Finance Functions
- Support Finance teams to understand their systems, processes, and business gaps.
Leadership & Performance Management Of Team:
- Proper induction and Training of personnel to ensure competency in role for those who are direct reports and support the same for new joiners
- Supporting skills and career development.
- Ensuring enough cross-skilling within the team to prevent interruption to Finance processes.
- Excellent team player who is willing to work flexibly to assist fellow team members during busy periods.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work unsupervised.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work flexibly with teams from different departments and locations.
