Post Market Surveillance Data Analyst

As Data Analyst, you will:

• Monitor complaint records logged by Product Support in Salesforce and confirms data completeness (device identifiers, event codes, complaint category) as they flow into the PMS data warehouse for trending.
• Refresh and monitors Power BI dashboards tracking complaint volume, rate trends, and signal thresholds by product line; investigate any dashboard anomalies or data refresh failures at the Snowflake layer.
• Run SQL queries in Snowflake to pull ad hoc trend cuts for a QA engineer investigating a potential field issue, and documents the query logic so it can be reused for the next trending cycle.
• Join the weekly complaint trending / signal detection meeting with QA, RA, and Post-Market Operations, presenting Pareto charts and rate trends, and flagging any category approaching an alert threshold.
• Update trending reports and dashboard documentation, respond to ad hoc data requests from CAPA or regulatory submissions teams, and log any data quality issues found back to Product Support, the owners of complaint intake in Salesforce.
• Partner with QA/RA on a recurring basis to validate that new or modified reports meet data integrity expectations, and keep dashboard logic aligned with evolving IMDRF/MDR coding conventions.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Shortens the time from complaint intake to signal detection by building and maintaining reliable, automated Power BI dashboards on top of Snowflake-modeled complaint data — replacing manual, spreadsheet-based trending.
• Improves the accuracy and defensibility of complaint trending used in regulatory submissions, PSURs/PMSRs, and management review, by strengthening data quality checks between Salesforce and the analytics warehouse.
• Gives QA and Post-Market Operations leadership earlier visibility into emerging product issues, directly supporting faster CAPA initiation and reduced patient/customer risk.
• Builds a scalable data infrastructure and reporting library (standardized queries, refreshable dashboards, documented metric definitions) that reduces reliance on one-off analysis and institutional knowledge.
• Acts as the analytical bridge between complaint handling, quality engineering, and regulatory teams — translating raw complaint data into decision-ready trends, Pareto analyses, and rate calculations.
• Strengthens audit and inspection readiness by ensuring dashboards, trending logic, and underlying data pulls are traceable, reproducible, and aligned with QMS/regulatory requirements.
• Championing responsible AI adoption within the PMS analytics function, with a note on keeping outputs validated/defensible in a regulated environment.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related field required; Master's degree a plus.
• 5+ years in data analysis, reporting, or dashboard development, ideally within QA, complaint handling, or another regulated-industry function; 2+ years working with SQL-based cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake) and Power BI preferred.
• Hands-on experience in a Quality Assurance or regulated-industry environment (medical device, diagnostics, pharma, or similar), with working knowledge of complaint handling and post-market surveillance processes.
• Demonstrated experience building and trending complaint or quality data — identifying rate trends, running Pareto/root-cause analysis, and communicating findings to cross-functional stakeholders.
• Proven dashboard development skills in Power BI, including data modeling, DAX, and designing dashboards for non-technical business and quality audiences.
• Strong SQL and data warehousing skills in Snowflake (or a comparable cloud data warehouse), including writing efficient queries and understanding data pipeline/ETL fundamentals.
• Familiarity with Salesforce as a complaint/case management source system, including how case data structures translate into downstream reporting.
• Analytical rigor and attention to detail — comfortable validating data quality, reconciling discrepancies, and documenting methodology for regulatory and audit scrutiny.
• Clear communication skills, able to present trends and technical findings to QA, RA, and operations stakeholders in a way that supports decision-making.
• A collaborative, proactive mindset — someone who partners well with QA/RA process owners and treats data quality and documentation as part of the job, not an afterthought.
