This role is responsible for working collaboratively with the Record-to-Report Process Owner, the RTR Inter-company Manager and local country controller’s team in developing and sustaining business practices and/or procedures for the Record-to-Report process stream in the India Finance Shared Services Center (FSSC) organization. This individual will also work with key financial and operations business partners to further optimize/enable business practices through the existing ERP ensuring all general ledger related accounting transactions are captured and reported accurately and timely in the company’s financial statements in accordance to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
How the Candidate Will Make an Impact:
- Manage the daily activities of the General Ledger team ensuring that accounting transactions are processed timely which includes but is not limited to general ledger accruals and journal entries, payroll accounting, OPEX & balance sheet review, account reconciliations, closing and consolidations reporting. Coordinate the financial statement close cycle for GL team to ensure accurate and timely capture and recording of all accounting transactions in the appropriate period
- Responsible for ensuring that the GL Accounting team deliverables are compliant with applicable Corporate Policies and Procedures, as well as SOX requirements. Identify and resolve all issues for the GL Accounting team timely to prevent any reporting inconsistencies in the general ledger from reporting period to reporting period
- Co-ordinate the internal and external audits. Ensure accurate and timely information are submitted to auditors. Provide inputs in drafting of narratives and carrying out walk through of processes along with the auditors. Ensure all the audit query or any action item of the audit it completed to the auditor’s satisfaction
- Work with Record-to-Report Process Owner in the Accounting Shared Services Organization, the ERP solutions team and the business partners to continue to drive process efficiencies through further automation in the India Finance Shared Services Center (FSSC) organization
- Help to define, document and maintain process/procedures that support process standardization /optimization for the Record-to-Report team
- Preparation of monthly KPI metrics and other analyses that allow for continuous monitoring of the General Ledger team’s progress accurately and timely
What the Candidate Brings
- Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills for interacting with individual team contributors, business partners, and senior management
- Strong knowledge of internal controls and US GAAP accounting required and SAP
- Chartered Accountant, CPA, ACCA, Cost Accountant or equivalent degree in accounting and Finance
- Strong analytical and problem solving background.
- At least 5-8 years of progressive experience with at least 5 years dealing with processes and data related to transactional processing in the area of Record-to-Report. At least 3-5 years of leadership experience included is a must
- Extensive Record-to-Report process knowledge and US GAAP technical expertise
- Finance SSC Experience in large multinational company with a high volume, performance driven environment
- Must have SAP and Hyperion experience
- Big Four experience/background preferred
