UX Designer/Researcher

The Quality Systems Division for Bio-Rad is a global leader in providing a broad array of clinical diagnostic controls to ensure laboratory measurements are within standards, enabling labs to provide accurate medical test results to physicians and patients. As part of this ecosystem, the division also provides a growing family of software applications that help clinical laboratories worldwide to track their performance and support their efforts in accreditation. Laboratory technicians use this software to check the accuracy of their test results through internal statistical analysis and external comparison against peer results of laboratories throughout the world. The real-world impact of this software is to help doctors accurately diagnose patient problems and provide the proper treatment, saving lives and improving the quality of life for millions.

 

We’re looking for a passionate UX Designer/Researcher, based in our Irvine,CA location, with a user-centric mindset to manage user research and design for our world-class Unity data management application used globally by healthcare professionals. You will lead & develop thoughtful user-centered solutions to improve the user experience for critical user pain points and opportunities to increase efficiency and usability for cloud-based software applications and websites. You will partner with product managers, product owners, software engineers to address key moments in the customer journey and deliver an exceptional customer experience. 

How You'll Make An Impact:

• Compelling UI designs and product experiences based on customer needs.
• Understand and apply feedback to execute thoughtful designs with flexibility.
• Develop and deploy research plans, field guides, recruit participants, research moderation, and report creation across the product lifecycle from early-stage design and product definition activities to post-release assessment.
• Map out customer journey experience, user personas, and use cases to transform insights into actionable deliverables.
• Lead and facilitate workshops to brainstorm and find creative solutions to address key moments in the customer journey and deliver an exceptional user experience.
• Collaborate with cross-functional in UX ideation and innovation, ensuring work aligns with the company’s mission and strategic initiatives. 

What You Bring:

• BA/BS Human Centered Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design or related disciplines
• 10+ years of experience in UX designs and/or user research.
• Expert knowledge and experience in Figma, Sketch, InVision, or similar.
• Expert knowledge and experience developing interactive prototyping, wireframing, and UI specifications.
• Advanced knowledge and experience conducting UX research or working closely with UX researchers.
• Expert knowledge and experience UX design with Cloud-based Software applications, Mobile, and Web.
• Expert visual design skills and conceptual fluency in development applications.
• Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
• Expert knowledge and experience designing UI wireframes & click-through prototypes.
• Advanced knowledge in HTML, CSS, XML and Javascript.
• Experience working with the Agile framework.

Location: Bio-Rad is pleased to offer the flexibility of a hybrid work environment for this role, 3 days in office, 2 days remote, working out of the Irvine, CA office

Compensation: The estimated base salary range for this position is $130,200,000 - $179,100 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors. This position is also eligible for a variable annual bonus, which is dependent upon achievement of your individual objectives and Company performance.
