Commodity Specialist

Your impact: 

• Management of a small group of commodities with annual transactional purchases of $10M - $20M
• Management of a group of commodities with limited impact and complexity in a local plant
• Identifiying and resolving potential supplier problems
• Identifying value improvement opportunities within assigned commodities
• Implementation of procurement strategies that help achieve Global Supply Chain goals
• Assistance in implementation of regional strategies
• Working with appropriate parties to resolve invoice issues to minimize overdue invoices
• Ensuring services are delivered on time and meet quality standards
• Participation in supplier audits and business reviews
• Monitoring cost and supplier performance
• Maintaining files and records related to purchasing activities

What you bring:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration or related discipline
• 3-6 years’ experience in Sales, Purchasing, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience expediting and issuing purchase orders a plus
• Coursework towards CPM and/or CPIM certification is preferred
• Basic knowledge and application of the principles and theories of purchasing
• French or German mother tongue with fluent English
• Good oral and written communication, negotiation, and multitasking skills with good organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
