Maintenance Technician III

Bio-Rad is looking for a Maintenance Technician III to support the manufacturing plant that produces process chromatography resins, liquid buffers, monomer solutions, oils, and other specialized life science products. In this role you will be part of the Manufacturing Science and Technology group that consists of a multidisciplinary team of Scientists and Engineers working on developing innovative technologies and continuous improvement projects for the chemical manufacturing site.

As the Maintenance Technician, you will collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to determine Bio-Rad's infrastructure needs and product specifications. Your work ensures the various pieces of Bio-Rad's infrastructure (Process equipment, instrumentation, and automation) fit together perfectly and keep our equipment and manufacturing process moving along smoothly for a seamless user(internal/external) experience. Equipment includes glass-lined reactors with heating systems, semi-automated fill lines, air classifiers, wet sizing units, inline mixing systems, and semi-automated dispense systems among various others. Instrumentation includes control valves, temp, pressure, speed transmitters. Automation systems include - Allen Bradley RS Logix, Control/Compact Logix, Automation direct HMI, and PLCs.

How You’ll Make An Impact: 

• Makes routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery and equipment. 
• Tests, inspects, troubleshoots, and repairs plant machines, equipment and structures. 
• May provide basic training to lower-level department personnel on processes and tasks. 
• Documents work in CMMS system. 
• Performs preventative maintenance on production equipment. 
• May assist Engineer in Parts and Process qualification and evaluations. 
• Develop equipment maintenance SOPs for new production and/or facility/utility equipment and updates maintenance SOPs as required. 
• Provides training for lower-level department personnel. 
• Provides immediate corrective actions for production and/or facility/utility related equipment. 
• Works with engineering to upgrade and/or modify production, facility, and/or utility equipment. 
• Troubleshoots maintenance problems prior to escalation. 
• Operates within prescribed quality and safety policies and procedures.

What You Bring:

• Education: High school or trade school diploma, GED, or equivalent. 
• Work Experience: 4+ years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
• Advanced knowledge of methods, practices and procedures in one or more craft areas. 
• Interprets blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications. 
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment to resolve maintenance issues. 
• Knowledge of PC, MS Office, and basic software. 
• Possess a pertinent license if required by law.

Compensation: The estimated base salary range for this position is $66,000 to $90,100 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors. This position is eligible for a variable annual bonus, which is dependent upon achievement of your individual objectives and Company performance.
