Research Intern

Bio-Rad Laboratories is a global leader in developing, manufacturing, and marketing innovative products for the life science research and clinical diagnostics markets. At the Digital Biology Center, we develop Droplet Digital PCR (ddPCR) products using microfluidic technologies to generate thousands of uniform, nanoliter-sized droplets in a water-in-oil emulsion. Built on this core technology, Bio-Rad’s ddPCR systems deliver cutting-edge solutions with significant impact in both life sciences research and healthcare.

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Intern to join our R&D team for a summer research project focused on improving ddPCR systems. Key activities include preparing bulk solutions, performing ddPCR and qPCR assays across multiple platforms, analyzing experimental data, and presenting results to the project team.

We’re looking for a Research Intern with an upbeat attitude to join our R&D team for a summer. The successful candidate will be an individual who enjoys lab work, wants to learn new skills related to ddPCR technology, has great communication & organization skills.

What You Bring: 

• Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree at an accredited university in a scientific discipline or related field. Eligible candidates must be rising juniors, seniors, or graduate students who intend to return to their academic program the following academic year. A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is required. 
• Must be available to work full time, 40 hours a week. 
• Must be able to relocate if necessary and work at the designated site for the duration of the internship for on-site, hybrid roles. 
• Strong communication skills, Attention to details and ability to follow instructions – written and verbal.

Location: This position must be based in Hercules, California and requires the employee to be located within commuting distance of the office.

Compensation: The hourly range for this position is $25 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors.
