Field Application Scientist - Academic

As an Academic Field Application Scientist, you will be a critical liaison between Bio-Rad and our academic research customers on the west coast’s northwest and southwest regions, providing pre- and post-sale training and application support on our portfolio of chromatography, western blot imaging and immunoassay instrumentation. You will work closely with Field Sales Representatives and deliver trainings, presentations, product demonstrations and technical seminars to individuals and groups with diverse needs and experience levels. 

Specific responsibilities include: 

• Live seminar/training/demonstration of our chromatography and Imaging instrumentation/workflows, 
• Providing assistance with data analysis, troubleshooting, and optimization for Bio-Rad’s proteomics technologies. 
• Perform occasional ‘bench work’ during trainings and demos of Bio-Rad’s proteomics technologies 
• Assist customers with experimental design, and reporting of results.

How You’ll Make An Impact: 

• Contribute to our mission statement of " Expert Partnership” by teaching customers how to incorporate Bio-Rad’s proteomics technologies into their workflows and promote their success. 
• Support Field Sales Representatives in achieving yearly sales targets 
• Aid customers in data analysis, troubleshooting, and optimization for Bio-Rad's proteomics technologies. 
• Advise customers in experimental design, data analysis and reporting of results. 
• Bring your expertise to the Field Application Scientist team through strategic projects and internal collaboration.

What You Bring:

• Education: MS in Life Sciences minimum, PhD preferred. 
• Work Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in proteomics techniques, experience in chromatography and western blot imaging mandatory. 
• Strong verbal (oral and written) and presentation skills required. A combination of expert troubleshooting and interpersonal skills are the keys to success in this position.

Compensation: The estimated base salary range for this position is $94,100 to $129,400 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors. This position is also eligible for quarterly commission based on assigned sales quotas.
