Wet Lab Scientist Intern

Join the Life Science Group as a wet lab scientist intern where you will design and execute experiments for DNA and protein detection through PCR, ELISA, and Western Blotting. Supported by other researchers and scientists, you will be hands-on in the preparation of reagents, optimization of assays, and troubleshooting conditions. You will be responsible for recording and analyzing results, then reporting on the findings to cross functional teams.

How You’ll Make An Impact: 

• Prepare reagents, buffers and gels for wet laboratory workflows. 
• Design and execute experiments for DNA and protein detection. 
• Perform optimization and sensitivity testing for determining ideal conditions/candidates. 
• Record, analyze, and summarize experimental data for reporting.

What You Bring: 

• Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree at an accredited university in Biology, Biochemistry or related field. Eligible candidates must be rising juniors, seniors, or graduate students who intend to return to their academic program the following academic year. A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is required. 
• Hands on laboratory experience in pipetting, buffer preparation, gel casting, assay preparation. 
• Experience with protein detection technologies including Gel Electrophoresis, Western Blot, and ELISA. 
• Ability to maintain clear, accurate, and well-organized notes. 
• Ability to present data clearly in a team environment.

Location: This position must be based in Hercules, California and requires the employee to be located within commuting distance of the office.

Compensation: The hourly range for this position is $25 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors.
