The EMEA Benefits Specialist administers benefits programs for the various countries in the region under the direction of the EMEA Benefits Supervisor.  The Benefits Specialist performs any and all administrative requirements to support the effective maintenance of benefits to employees in each EMEA country.  Provides guidance to employees regarding plan enrollment, ongoing communication, and program features/changes, and works directly with employees to understand and resolve coverage, payments, and claims issues.  Resolves issues with the help and collaboration of service providers as well as Bio-Rad HR and Finance/Payroll staff.  Responsible for the day-to-day operations and management of benefits programs including recordkeeping, reporting, regulatory compliance, contracts, vendor payments, leave management, etc.

 

 

How You’ll Make an Impact: 

 

  • Administers EMEA benefits programs including statutory and non-statutory retirement, pension, medical, leave-of-absence, and other related programs. Ensures the required policies, reporting and documentation, contract negotiation, and legal compliance to maintain a competitive benefit offering for employees.
  • Works directly with employees to ensure effective enrollment and continued coverage in local benefit programs. Designs and/or coordinates communications strategies and programs to ensure full enrollment and participation in benefits offerings. Assists employees in the successful resolution of benefits issues, payments, claims disputes, etc. with help from local HR/Finance staff to effectively communicate with employees in the variety of languages required.
  • Works with outside service providers including government agencies, insurance brokers, benefits providers, systems vendors, etc. to establish and maintain effective benefits programs. Facilitates country-specific open enrollment processes, benefit system upgrades, interaction with Employee Central, and other benefit projects.
  • Interprets complex laws, regulations, policies related to benefits, and serves as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for leave programs and with applicable country-state laws. 

 

What You Bring:  

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in employee benefits administration.
  • 1 year of related experience in employee benefits and benefits/HR administration and legislation within the EMEA region
  • Computer skills with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills in English
  • Excellent Customer Service skills required.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Interprets complex laws, regulations and policies related to benefits and employment law that may be unique to each country served.
  • Project management skills
